Headlights
It’s always a treat to see film directors stepping behind the camera not for creating works of fiction but actually music videos. Even more so, when the artist responsible for the music is known to have had a troubled past and is choosing to discuss it in his latest promo. Such is the case with Eminem’s “Headlights” promo directed by the none other: Spike Lee. Dealing with Marshall’s love/hate relationship with his mother, also marginally touched in Curtis Hanson’s “8 Mile” feature, Headlights offers us the perspective of a woman in the attempts to reconnect with her estranged son. An emotional story especially due to the 1-st person camera perspective.
