We’ve yet to see an interactive music video that can accomplish building different stories as successfully as this promo for Chairlift, directed by Jordan Fish, manages to do. It might seem you’re simply choosing left from right, outside from inside or have the protagonist follow a boy or a girl, but the results you end up viewing, can vary considerably from a love story to an intrigue or even a band performance along the way. Check out here some of the different situations you can expect from the interaction, or have a look at Jordan’s flowchart:
Each version makes perfect sense and could stand alone as an independent promo, though not all of them are plot driven. During each version there are several nodes allowing you to take decisions, so be prepared to spend considerable time before actually being able to claim you’ve seen it all! No worries if you’re too late with pressing an arrow though: a random choice will be made for you.
Overwhelmed by the (apparently) endless possibilities? Watch here the linear version!
